Q: Who built this?!?

A: My dad and our carpenter friend Johnny Fox (but mostly Johnny)

Q: But I thought you  built it Ryan!?

A: nah.

​

Q: Well what DID you do?

A: I made the design of the tree house, the glowing tables, the pulley block lamp, the handing shelves, the small circular shelf, the walls in the screened in part of the tree house, the curtain rods, the marble shower, the little boat cleat door handle thingies, da logo, the helm and basically anything with rope, some shelves and I made the treasure hunt itself.

Q: Who made the stream?

A: Ma pops.

Q: When was this built?

A: 2019

Q: How long did it take?

A: 10 months

Q: Are you guys on social media?

A: Yep. Instagram @treasurehunttreehouse.

Q: What’s this thing made out of?

A: The walls are cedar inside and out. Some of the siding is pine tree slices. The glowing table is made from pecky Cyprus. The floors, folding chairs, are all made out of acacia wood. The Wood bowl is made out of Enrico Root wood. The decking and support beams are mostly pressure treated pine. The railing and curtain rods are bamboo.  The hanging shelves are oak. The small circular shelf is maple. And the rocks are made out of rock.

Q: How does support for this accommodate tree growth?

A: The knee brackets on the two story tree house are specifically designed for tree houses and accommodate for tree movement and growth. The bridge is supported by 3 steel cables that can each hold 1400 lbs. This tree house will be around for a long time.

Q: What inspired you to do this?

A: The Swiss Family Robinson movie made in 1960.

Q: What do you do for a living?

A: hard to answer. I have been a marine, a cop, a security business owner, a real estate agent, landlord, and a construction worker. Shipping, sales, Human Resources …Lots of different jobs.

​

Q: I got stumped on one of clues of the treasure hunt . . .

A: ok.

​

Q: What is this rope/pulley thing connected to your deck?

A: That is your supply line, should I need to deliver anything to you.

​

Q: With all of this wood, are you concerned about fire?

A: yes.

​

Q: What inspired you to do the treasure hunt?

A: I’ve done them for years in my house just for fun. I even proposed to my wife with a treasure hunt.

The bathroom (exclusive for guests) is located on the ground connected to the house.

There is a stone path with lights leading to the treehouse bathroom door.


The code to the bathroom electronic lock is the same as the treehouse bedroom: 9999


The air-conditioning unit is also the heater. The controls are on top of the unit .

The remote control to the Ceiling fan is also in the nightstand drawer.

​

To open the French doors, undo the latch at the top of the doors.

​

To turn on or off the bridge lights, the switch is on the black power strip hanging screened in treehouse.

​

This is also hooked up to the microwave and the mini fridge.

​

The Water Pitcher contains tap water for teeth brushing/ hand washing.

​
